Chad Zallow Sets State Record – DIII Finals

JFK’s Chad Zallow set a state record of 36.87 in the boys 300 Meter Hurdles on his way to a first place finish. Zallow also placed first in the 110 Meter Hurdles, while brother Carl Zallow placed first in the 100 Meter Dash. The JFK boys weren’t done there. They placed second in the 4×200 Meter Relay with both Zallow’s, Robert Seger and Zach Watt running.

The JFK Eagles boys team placed third overall in the State.

The McDonald boys had a good showing as well, finishing fifth overall.

Ryan Fillman of United finished ninth in the 300 Meter Hurdles. The Eagles team of Fillman, Alex Phillips, AJ Bokanovich, and Michael Martin placed seventh in the 4×100 Meter Relay.

Andrew O’Leary of South Range placed second in the 400 Meter Dash, while Zach Watt of JFK finished sixth. The South Range boys team of Adam Meloy, Cole Krumpak, Jake Arsuffi, and Andrew O’Leary finished fifth in the 4×400 Meter Relay.

Patrick Kunkel of McDonald placed third in the 1600 Meter Run. He also ran for the 4×800 Meter Relay team, along with Robert Johnson, Allan Coviello, and David Natoli who finished fifth. Kunkel also placed fourth in the 800 Meter Run.

Maplewood’s team of Solomon Yoder, Mike Dahman, Derek Morrison, and Wyatt Hartman placed fourth in the 4×800 Meter Relay. Hartman placed second in the 800 Meter Run, while Morrison finished 12th.

Robert Johnson of McDonald placed second in the 3200 Meter Run, with Time Nichols of South Range finishing just behind him for third.

Marcus Mosley of Ursuline finished ninth in the 200 Meter Dash. The Irish’s Preston Williams finished ninth in the High Jump.

Zack Conley of McDonald finished 15th in the high jump.

Columbiana’s Britton Steiginga finished fifth in the long jump, while Jake Arsuffi of South Range finished 12th.

Stephen Pop of Maplewood placed third in the Discus Throw. Christian Smith of McDonald finished sixth in the Discus Throw and Jon Kenney of South Range finished eighth.

On the Girls side, Morgan Rice of JFK placed first in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.81. Rice also finished fourth in the 300 Meter Hurdles.

Brookfield’s Tori Thompson finished ninth in the 300 Meter Hurdles.

Shartece Taylor of Wellsville placed second in the 100 Meter Dash. She also finished 10th in the Long Jump. Taylor wasn’t done there. She finished seventh in the 200 Meter Dash.

Eric Pavick of Maplewood finished 13th in the 800 Meter Dash.

United’s Allison Parks finished fifth in the 1600 Meter Run. Parks, Emily Guappone, Maggie Briceland, and Chloe Bortmas finished fourth in the 4×800 Meter Relay.

Jai’Lyn Mosley of McDonald finished fourth in the Discus Throw, while teammate Tory Ross finished seventh. Columbiana’s Addie Dunlap finished ninth.

Leah Blaney of Badger finished 11th in Long Jump, with Olivia Pilon of Bristol finishing 15th.

Shayla Ray of Columbiana finished 11th in the High Jump, while Taylor Baumiller finished 16th.
