Pride Youngstown members marched through the city of Youngstown for their fifth annual parade.

Close to 30 participants took part in the parade, which went down the Market Street Bridge and into downtown.

Organizers said the Youngstown community is more accepting of the gay community than it has been in the past.

“We’re just getting the unity that shows, you know all people can have gay family and friends and  all of that, and everyone’s just proud to be that because we’re gay because you got the Italian Festival, the Polish Festival, all the other different festivals, there’s nothing wrong with having a Gay Pride Festival,” said parade co-chairman John Vivo.

The parade coincides with Pride Youngstown’s annual festival which wrapped up Saturday.
