Police: NW Ohio dad backed over son, killing him

FREMONT, Ohio (AP) — Police in northwest Ohio are investigating the weekend death of a 22-month-old boy killed when his father backed over him with his sports utility vehicle.

Police in Fremont said Monday that no charges have been filed in the death of Juliano Stockman-Patino and the investigation is continuing.

Police say 23-year-old Juan Patino was leaving a residence Saturday night when the vehicle hit the boy.

Fremont Police Chief Tim Wiersma tells the Port Clinton News-Herald (ohne.ws/14PNH8H) the father took urine, breath and sobriety tests. The chief says alcohol in the man’s system was not over the legal limit.

No results on the autopsy were immediately available. A message was left Monday for the Sandusky County coroner.
