Camps started Monday across the Youngstown City Parks system, and the kids and counselors tried not to let the rain put a damper on their enthusiasm.
At Pemberton Park, a handful of young soccer players had the chance to learn from a TetraBrazil coach.
The program is a week long and teaches the kids footwork and technical drills. The coaches say the younger the kids start, the better players they become.
“It’s really nice to work with this age of kids, because they learn so fast. It’s really hard for kids ages 14, 15 who never played before. You can’t teach them. The touch of the ball, it works best by 9 or 10,” said coach Andre Ottoeni.
