Neshannock Girls to Defend State Title

The Lancers advance to the PIAA Class A State Championship with a 4-1 win over Southern Huntingdon on Tuesday.

Neshannock started the scoring in the 3rd when Katelyn Burrelli drove in Marissa Dematteo with an RBI single.

In the 6th, the Lancers added another run to take a 2-0 advantage.

Leading 2-1 in the 7th, Neshannock added some insurance when Burrelli again doubled in Dematteo to take a 3-1 lead. Madison Shaffer then drove in Burrelli with an RBI double to make it 4-1.

Neshannock will play the winner of Northeast Bradford and Williams Valley, Friday at 3 p.m. at Nittany Lions Softball Park at Penn State University.
