Police: Ohio officers injured struggling with man

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — Police say two officers were injured while struggling with a man they say was incoherent and resisting efforts get him under control in southwest Ohio.

Hamilton police say they responded shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an incoherent 46-year-old man. They say the man started struggling and tried to choke a paramedic after he was administered a drug to counteract a possible drug reaction. Police say the man assaulted the officers when they tried to pull him away from the paramedic

Police say one officer was pushed down a flight of steps and another officer who deployed a stun gun on the man was punctured by a stun gun barb when it came off the man.

Both officers were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
