Toddler dies after fall from Philly unit window

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a toddler who fell from a fifth-story apartment window in Philadelphia has died.

Authorities say it happened shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Powelton section of west Philadelphia.

Officer said the 18- to 22-month-old child somehow fell from the window of the unit in the West Park Apartments.

The toddler was rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in critical condition. A police spokeswoman said he was pronounced dead just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The name of the victim has not been released. The case is under investigation.
