Cops to Open for Money

Wayne Mackey

Those attending the Eddie Money concert on Friday may see some familiar local faces on stage.

Warren police Det. Wayne Mackey and his band, the OneFortyOnes, are one of the opening acts tonight at the Warren Amphitheatre.

The band plays their own original songs and consists of Mackey and other members of the Warren Police Department.

The OneFortyOne’s have been playing together for four years. Mackey said the band does it to help the community. Proceeds from Friday’s concert will be donated for the Relay for Life.

“We do it every year for Relay for Life in some fashion,” Mackey, a singer in the band, said. “We play at their venues, we have played at extra venues like this. That’s all this band was put together for was to give back, help the community.”

Gates open at 5 p.m. and tickets cost $10.
