SW Pa. woman wanted in murder headstone scam

MEYERSDALE, Pa. (AP) — A southwestern Pennsylvania woman is now wanted after skipping a preliminary hearing on charges she falsely solicited donations to buy a headstone for a murder victim.

The (Somerset) Daily American (http://bit.ly/10i0aGk ) reports a district judge issued the bench warrant Thursday for 19-year-old Faith Ann Robertson, of Meyersdale.

Borough police say two residents donated $25 when Robertson showed up at their door Dec. 3 seeking the money in memory of Justine Jackson, and police say three more people told police they refused donation requests from Roberson. Police say she wasn’t authorized by anyone to collect the money

Twenty-three-year-old Jonathan Beal, of Meyersdale, is awaiting trial in Somerset County in Jackson’s death. Her remains were found Nov. 11 near the Great Allegheny Passage nearly two months after she was last seen walking nearby.
