ATV rider dies after striking pony in NE Pa.

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — An ATV rider has died after striking a pony in northeastern Pennsylvania.

State police say 25-year-old Robert Kerr of Hop Bottom was riding north on Route 3004 in Susquehanna County about 9:30 p.m. Saturday when he hit a pony that was in the road.

Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said Monday that Kerr died of a traumatic brain injury, The Times-Tribune of Scranton ( ) reported. Kerr was not wearing a helmet.

The condition of the pony was unavailable.
