Woman dies after fall from Pittsburgh balcony

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Officials say a Pittsburgh woman who fell from a fourth-floor apartment balcony has died.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner says that 77-year-old Janice Bress died as a result of the Monday morning fall.

Police say the incident happened at about 10:15 a.m. at the Maxon Towers, a 10-story development in the city’s upscale Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

Details of how the accident happened were not immediately available and officials are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
