Man tries to snatch Pa. boy playing on swing set

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. (AP) — State police say an unknown man tried to abduct a 6-year-old boy who was playing on a swing set in his western Pennsylvania yard.

Troopers from New Castle say the incident happened Saturday evening in Perry Township, near Ellwood City. That’s about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Police say the white suspect, who appeared to be in his 30s, approached the boy, said “Hi” and tried to speak with the child.

The boy, who was instructed not to talk to strangers, became alarmed and ran away but not before the man grabbed the boy’s shirt. The boy was able to break away and run inside, while police say the man ran away through some neighboring yards.

Police have yet to identify or arrest the man who has blonde hair and a skeleton tattoo.
