Crews searching for missing boater in eastern Pa.

NORTHAMPTON, Pa. (AP) — Fire and rescue crews are still searching for a kayaker who went missing on the Lehigh River in eastern Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The boater went missing around 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Northampton. Crews have been searching a 5-mile stretch of the river, which has been running high because of recent rainfall. They have also been searching the shoreline.

Fire department officials say they found a blue kayak Sunday.

Northampton police Detective Glenn Deist says authorities are still treating it as a search for a missing person.
