Man pleads to Glenmoor bank robbery

A Canfield man pleaded guilty Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to robbing a bank in February.

Tary L. Gilbert, of Indian Run Drive, pleaded to robbing the Home Savings and Loan in the Glenmoor area Feb. 19, according to our print partner, the Lisbon Morning Journal.

According to court documents, Gilbert slipped a note to a bank teller, threatening to harm the person and demanding money, but did not show a weapon. After the robbery, Gilbert fled in a dark-colored Nissan, but bank employees were able to get the car’s license plate number.

A sheriff’s deputy spotted the car on Route 11 and helped intercept Gilbert. He will be sentenced Aug. 9 and could face up to three years in prison.
