Philly police: Child used in theft of wallet

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police have released surveillance footage that shows a woman instructing a young girl to steal a wallet at a nail salon.

The theft took place in the Kensington section of the city on June 10, according to the video.

A woman sitting at the nail salon is talking to a little girl as the child sits on the floor and slides a purse away from a nearby customer.

The woman then goes through the purse with the girl and seems to pull out a wallet. After the wallet is concealed, the little girl carefully closes the purse and slides it back to its owner without being noticed.

Police are looking for information on the suspect, who they say is a 20 year-old Hispanic woman with blonde hair.
