Several homeless pets had a chance to go home with an owner Thursday.

Sweeney Chevrolet in Boardman hosted 10 adoption groups from around the Valley showcasing adoptable dogs and cats.

It’s the first time the dealership has hosted the Adopt-A-Palooza, which gave prospective pet owners a chance to rescue a pet.

“We try every chance we get to give back to the community and have some different events out here whether it be the adopt a palooza or a car show to benefit a charity,” said Anthony Garano, sales manager at Sweeney Chevrolet.

The community event also featured a police K-9  and a tricks demonstration.
