Pa.’s DuBois Regional teaming with Columbia U.

DUBOIS, Pa. (AP) — A west-central Pennsylvania hospital is teaming up with Columbia University of New York to develop a regional heart care center.

The (DuBois) Courier Express ( ) reported Thursday that DuBois Regional Medical Center is teaming up with the renowned hospital.

Under the deal, The Heart Center of DRMC, which is affiliated with Penn Highlands Healthcare, will develop a strategic partnership with Columbia’s HeartSource.

DuBois Regional president John Sutika says the partnership will give the Pennsylvania health clinic access to Columbia’s clinical and administrative resources, newer technology and cardiac care innovations. The deal should improve recruitment of doctors to the DuBois Regional heart center, which serves Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson and other west-central Pennsylvania counties.
