Police find body inside burned car in Carlisle

CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — Police in central Pennsylvania say they found a body inside a burned vehicle while responding to a car fire.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in Carlisle. The Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/12WU67J ) the victim hasn’t been identified and authorities are still trying to determine if it was a homicide, a suicide or something else.

Nearby residents had reported hearing a loud ‘boom’ and then seeing a vehicle explode in flames. Firefighters say they had it under control in about 10 minutes and found the body badly burned inside.

The cause of the fire and the death are under investigation.
