Batavia, NY- A classic pitcher’s duel at Dwyer Stadium on Saturday turned into another heartbreaker for the Scrappers. A 1-1 tie was broken in the bottom of the 10th when Connor Burke chopped a single over a drawn in infield to plate the winning run.

Luis Lugo followed up his impressive opening day win with another strong outing. He worked five innings, allowing three hits. He walked one and struck out one. Lugo allowed one unearned run.

The Bullpen continued to impress as well. Briely Puerta and Trevor Frank combined to work four innings while allowing only two hits and striking out five while walking none. Ben Heller worked the 10th inning and allowed two hits and the one run.

The only offensive highlight for the Scrappers came in the top of the 6th inning with one out, Juan Romero blasted his first home run of the season. The homer tied the game at 1.
