At least one person is dead, another badly injured following a double stabbing last night on Route 305 in Southington, just west of Rt. 422.

The Sheriff’s office said a man was found dead near the front porch of the home with his throat slit.

A female was found near the roadway.

She was found by a man driving by on his way to Nelson Ledges in Portage County.

“I’m on I think this is 305 off of 422, somebody got hit by a car and is bleeding severely on the road,” the woman told dispatchers.

When police arrived it was found the woman was not hit by a car, she had been stabbed multiple times and was flown by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital.

The suspect,Thomas Star, is in police custody, arrested after running into nearby woods.

A motive is not being released at this time, or the names of the victims, but it’s believed the female victim is the suspects mother.

Starr is in the Trumbull County Jail and is expected to appear in court early next week.
