I-71 in Cincinnati reopens after fatal crash

CINCINNATI (AP) — The southbound lanes of I-71 in downtown Cincinnati have reopened after a fatal motorcycle crash inside a tunnel.

Investigators say 29-year-old Zachary Puckett was killed in the crash Sunday night in the Lytle Tunnel.

They say he sped up to pass another motorcycle he was riding with when he lost control of his motorcycle, hit a curb inside the tunnel and then a guardrail just outside the tunnel.

Puckett was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Authorities believe both speed and alcohol played a part.

WCPO-TV (http://bit.ly/189rXeA) reports the southbound lanes of I-71 were closed for more than four hours as officials reconstructed the scene.
