Man arrested in Salem stabbing

One man is in custody after a stabbing overnight in Salem.

A pedestrian flagged down officers shortly after midnight Sunday for a stabbing that happened behind the Stadium GM auto dealership on West State Street.

Police arrested Jonathan Abbott, 26, after he attempted to flee the area.

Abbott faces obstructing official business and assault charges.

Police are not releasing any other information at this time including the victim’s identity or condition.
