Ohio father, adult daughter killed in house fire

SEAMAN, Ohio (AP) — A southern Ohio coroner says a father and daughter have been killed in a house fire.

Adams County Coroner Larry Best says the 57-year-old father was blind and had health problems, and that his 21-year-old daughter was autistic.

It’s unclear what started the fire, reported Monday afternoon at a home in the village of Seaman, about 60 miles east of Cincinnati.

Best says the daughter was pronounced dead at the scene, while the father died in an emergency room.

The coroner says it appears they both died of smoke inhalation and seemed to be the only ones living in the home.

It’s unclear what caused the fire.

Their identities were not immediately released.
