Facelift coming for care center

The staff  at Maplecrest Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation announced plans Wednesday to build a 10,999 square foot addition to the current facility on Sexton Street in Struthers. The new construction is in addition to the current renovations of the building.

The addition will include a therapy center, private and semi-private suites, as well as a large, enclosed courtyard.

“I want to thank the City of Struthers, Mayor Stocker, Ed Wiles, our safety services director, they’ve been instrumental and more than helpful in getting this project off the ground,” said Maplecrest Vice President Lisa Daprile. “We couldn’t have done it without their support.”

The renovation project includes revamping the activity center, adding new offices and enlarging the beauty salon.

The total cost of project is $2.2 million.

The addition should be finished by mid-August, and the renovation project should be done by November.
