Trumbull County Commissioners on Wednesday approved a new contract with the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber to continue economic development services in Trumbull County.
The 12-month contract, totaling $18,000, will enable the Regional Chamber to continue its multi-faceted economic development efforts throughout Trumbull County.
The Regional Chamber concentrates on the retention and expansion of local business and the attraction of new business to the Mahoning Valley. The Chamber provides a broad range of economic development services, including assisting companies in identifying suitable properties, securing project incentives and obtaining strategic information.
Sarah Boyarko, the Chamber’s Vice President of Economic Development North America, said that during 2012, the Regional Chamber had significant involvement in 10 Trumbull County projects totaling nearly $221 million of investment, and the creation of 87 new jobs with an estimated annual payroll of more than $3.1 million as well as 4,508 retained jobs.
“In taking a look at the pending opportunities we are currently managing, we’re looking forward to another successful year of business growth in Trumbull County,” Boyarko said.
