A second man has been arrested following a home invasion Tuesday morning on Grandview Avenue in Weathersfield.
Erick A. Rivers Jr., 20, of Warren, is being held at the Trumbull County Jail on a charge of aggravated burglary. He will be arraigned Friday in Niles Municipal Court.
Maliek Cobb, 20, also of Warren, was arrested shortly after a Grandview Avenue woman reported she awoke about 6 a.m. Tuesday and found a man standing in her bedroom. He immediately fled and met another man outside, but a family member who heard the woman scream saw two men fleeing the house on bicycles, according to Weathersfield police.
A Trumbull County Sheriff’s deputy saw the two suspects in the parking lot of the Cafe 422 Restaurant on Youngstown-Warren Road and caught up to them, but one, Rivers, ran into the woods. Cobb is being held at the Trumbull County Jail on a $50,000 bond following his arraignment Tuesday. He is due back in court next week on a charge of aggravated burglary.
Police said Cobb had many items stolen from the woman’s home on him when he was arrested.
Weathersfield police said they arrested Rivers after obtaining several leads in the case.
