One of the most popular football players ever met with fans on Saturday in Niles.

Former NFL star Jack Lambert signed autographs at the Eastwood Mall.

Lambert played middle linebacker for 11 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Several people had Lambert sign a picture showing him grinning thru his helmet with most of his teeth missing.

Lambert says he lost the four teeth in high school playing basketball.

Fans were excited to finally meet their idol in person.

“Oh my God! It’s great. Really great! I’m so excited,” said Donna Houser.

After he retired, Lambert married and now has four kids.

He lives about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh in Worthington, Pennsylvania. He now focuses on coaching youth baseball and basketball.
