A local library closed its doors on Saturday, preparing for a merger.

The North Jackson branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County checked out its last book and will reopen next month at a new location.

Last week, the Lake Milton branch was closed.

The two will now move into the new Tri-Lakes Branch Library on Mahoning Avenue.

The opening date is set for July 22.

If you have any books due, don’t worry. Any items checked out from either library won’t have late fines until July 30.

The next major construction project will be at the Canfield branch, which will be expanded on its current site.
