June was wet, not cool

June ended Sunday and as far as the weather, there were some dry stretches  and some wet ones too.

It turned out to be a wet June, with 53 percent of the days having rain. The airport picked up 5.37 inches of rain, which made the month above normal by 1.49 inches. The wettest day was on June 27 with 1.71 inches.

The area did see a dry stretch that added up to eight days.  It started on June 17 and lasted through June 24.

It seemed like a cool month, but ended up above normal in the temperature department. The average was 66.8 degrees, which is 0.4 degrees above normal.

The hottest day was on June 23, with a temperature of 89 degrees. There were no days with a high of 90 degrees or higher.

The coldest day was on June 4, when it dropped to 40 degrees. There were no record highs or lows.

There were 10 cloudy days, 18 partly cloudy days and two perfectly clear days.
