Boardman police seized more than 22 pounds of marijuana this week during a raid in which police found the two suspects undressed.
Terrell L. Engles, 33, of Plaza View Court, and Lestacia A. Scott, 1644 Elm St., both in Youngstown, were charged with second-degree felony trafficking drugs in the vicinity of children, a charge that carries an eight-year maximum prison sentence.
The two entered no plea at their initial appearances and were released after posting 10 percent of a $12,000 bond.
They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug 13.
Reports said police broke into the apartment at 5771 Sheridan Road and found the two in a state of undress. Officers let the two put bottoms on, then searched the home, finding 22 pounds of marijuana in various places in the bedroom the two were in when officers began the raid.
They also found 88 grams in another bag in the room and a small marijuana bag in Scott’s car. Three digital scales also were found inside the home.
Officers seized money, three televisions and two PlayStation 3 video game systems. They also noted their vehicles, Engles’ black 2002 Cadillac Escalade and another 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix for a possible forfeiture, depending on the case’s outcome.
Reports say when officers were leaving the home, they saw a child about 4 years old waving at them from the basement of a neighboring building.
