A rap artist took the holiday to come back to his hometown to shoot a music video.
Rufus Black was recording a video for his song “I love the YO” on the South Side that will be featured on YouTube.
Black’s friends and family made appearances in the video.
Black grew up in Youngstown and said he is proud of his is hometown and wants to show the good side of the city.
His director—who is also from Youngstown—said it’s important to them to keep with their roots.
“We just wanted to get some epic icons where we grew up so we can show and showcase places in Youngstown that are still popular for people that are originally from here,” Director Sean Lott said.
