Several upcoming events in downtown Youngstown are expected to draw thousands to the area next weekend.

Youngstown’s Events and Marketing Department held a press conference to highlight the weekend of events running from July 11-14.

The events will include the Greek Summerfest, Youngstown State University’s Summer Festival of the Arts, the Tour of the Valley bike race and the Youngstown Jazz Festival.

The city expects to see close to 30,000 people from across the country during those four days.

“It’s not a competition, it’s a collaboration between all these events to really showcase the campus, downtown, St. Nicks, just the great community that this area has to offer,” said Lyndsey Hughes, the city’s events and marketing director.
