Several men broke into a Canfield home, covered a 70-year-old woman with a blanket so she couldn’t see them and ransacked the home.

Reports said at least two men entered the home at about 11:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Fairway Drive. One went upstairs one and another went downstairs, where the woman was sleeping on a basement couch.

The woman told Mahoning County Sheriff’s officers the man, who spoke a foreign language, ordered her to lie on the floor. He put a stuffed animal behind her head and covered her eyes with his hands, then with a blanket.

The woman said she told the man she was cold and he covered her with a blanket.

Reports say the man told her they were federal agents looking for stolen property. She said the man asked “Where is the old man in the van?”

The person, or persons, that went upstairs ransacked the house and both fled. A neighbor told police they saw at least three people leaving the home in a van.
