Seat belt saves motorist in crash

A driver knocked down a light pole on Interstate 680 near the 7-11 interchange about 7 p.m. Friday.

A seat belt may have saved a motorist in Youngstown from a trip to the emergency room on Friday night.

The driver knocked down a light pole on Interstate 680 near the 7-11 interchange about 7 p.m.  The accident caused severe damage to the front end his car, ripping off the  bumper.

The driver told police he slid after applying his brakes. He was walking around after the crash and did not need medical attention.
