NE Ohio man dies in early morning crash

RAVENNA, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio man has died after his vehicle crashed into two trees in an early morning accident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash involving 35-year-old John A. Debon III of Warren.

Debon was driving westbound at around 4:15 a.m. along State Route 305, near Nicholson Road in Portage County’s Nelson Township. Police say his 2011 Volvo S40 was traveling fast when it ran off the right side of the road and struck the trees.

Debon was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being extricated from his vehicle by emergency workers. He was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital.

Authorities said it was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
