An area organization is trying to get more people to visit downtown Warren.
From chalk drawing to life-size chess boards, the Main Street Warren organization pulled out all the stops to attract families to downtown Warren.
“It’s been very nice. They’ve been very helpful and we’ve enjoyed it,” said Christine Barnes from Jefferson.
“Saturday on the Square” was the first in a series of events to help attract people to the area.
Main Street Warren collaborated with the Trumbull Art Gallery, the YMCA and the Chess is Life Organization for the event.
“People perceive downtown Warren as an unsafe place where they can’t come,” said George Piscsalko, President, Main Street Warren.
The main focus of the organization is promoting downtown Warren and businesses in the area.
Organizers said there will be something new for families each week. The “Saturday on the Square” event will run every Saturday from now through the end of August.
