Pa. man sentenced in child porn case

Court

Patrick Joseph Kofalt, 57, of Enon Valley was sentenced by a federal judge Tuesday to 19 years in prison for child exploitation.

According to the sentencing documents, disclosures by a six-year-old child in 2009 alleging sexual contact by Kofalt prompted the seizure of more than 1,000 images of child pornography which were carefully encrypted and saved by Kofalt in computer files.

Three additional sexual assault victims of Kofalt were eventually identified during the investigation.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
