2 brothers plead guilty in Pa. fatal home invasion

DRUMORE, Pa. (AP) — Two brothers have pleaded guilty to a Pennsylvania home invasion slaying authorities say netted them about $200,000 in cash.

Cody and Kyle Wunder of Aston, Delaware County both pleaded guilty Friday to killing 62-year-old widower Douglas Herr during a robbery Aug. 17 at his home in Drumore Township, Lancaster County.

Authorities said Herr grabbed a gun during a struggle and shot 25-year-old Cody Wunder in the leg before being shot in the head by 23-year-old Kyle Wunder.

The brothers will avoid the death penalty in exchange for pleading guilty. They face mandatory life terms in state prison for killing the Vietnam veteran and stealing $200,000 from a bedroom safe.

The case is still pending against Stephen Harmer of Kirkwood. Prosecutors say Harmer waited outside while the brothers entered the house.
