Boy Scouts get civics lesson

Boy Scouts visit commissioners

The Mahoning County Commissioners played host to some special guests at their weekly meeting Friday.

Boy Scout Troop 3 got a tour of the courthouse, attended the meeting and sat down to lunch with the commissioners.

The troop is dedicated to serving boys and young men with special needs. They just celebrated their 45th anniversary, and the members have kept busy this summer.

“We have two Scrappers games planned. We’ve got a camp out that’s going to be a movie night,” said troop leader July Jones. “We have a trip we’re going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

The commissioners presented the troop with homemade blankets from Project Linus and gift cards.
