CAROUSEL IN THE RUNNING
Jane's Carousel, which originally sat in Idora Park, has been nominated in the Most Awesome Parks and Playgrounds category in the New York 2013 Red Tricycle's Totally Awesome Awards.

A former centerpiece of Youngstown’s Idora Park is up for an award.

The carousel’s new home has been underneath the Brooklyn Bridge since September 2011.

Last December, the Idora carousel withstood Superstorm Sandy.

It’s now called Jane’s Carousel and it has been entered in the Most Awesome Parks and Playgrounds category in the New York 2013 Red Tricycle’s Totally Awesome Awards.

A New York artist bought the carousel after it was damaged in a fire at the park and spent 22 years restoring it.

There are 23 other parks and attractions on the list.
