Former Pa. jail guard gets prison for child porn

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A former guard at the county jail in Pittsburgh has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for possessing child pornography — some of it bondage-related — on his home computer.

Forty-five-year-old Lawrence Winter, of Moon Township, was an Allegheny County Jail guard from 1994 to 2010, when township and state police contend they found thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos stored on Winter’s computer.

He pleaded guilty in October to one count of possessing material depicting the exploitation of minors.

Winter must also pay $2,000 in restitution to one girl depicted in some of the videos.

That woman, identified in court papers only as “Vicky,” has sued for restitution whenever someone is convicted of possessing videos made of her as a child, which were distributed online by a relative who abused her.
