The 80th annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Festival kicked off Wednesday in Niles.

The five-day event will feature authentic Italian food such as chicken parmesan, sausage and peppers, and the traditional cheese puffs, all made by parish members.

The festival also features rides, carnival attractions and games. A grand prize raffle of $5,000 will be held along with other cash prizes totaling $10,000.

The event runs Wednesday, July 16 through Sunday, July 21. Festival hours on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the festival runs 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
