Tax breaks approved

Trumbull County Commissioners on Wednesday approved tax breaks for a Hubbard business that is looking to expand.

Evets Oil and Gas Construction will receive a 75 percent tax break for 10 years on their new $2.5 million expansion at their Erie Street facility.

The expansion will include new fabrication and paint shops, plus office space and is expected to create 30 jobs in three years.

CEO Rex Ferry said the oil and gas shale boom is the driving force behind the expansion. He said he expects the expansion to be complete by mid-November.

“We purchased Evets Electric back in 2003 and we have a leg up on what is going on in the Valley,” Ferry said. “We have worked all over the United States in this industry and we have seen what is going to happen. The Marcellus Shale has been big for us.”
