A semi truck and car collided about 4 p.m. Thursday in Weatherfield Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver of the Buick, Barry Floyd, 47, went left of center and struck the truck, which was transporting a load of pipe to Warren. The truck belongs to Front Street Trucking Co. and it was being driven by Larry Stryffeler.
State Route 46 was closed for more than three hours between Salt Springs and Ohltown McDonald roads while the accident was cleaned up.
Floyd had to be extricated with a hydraulic cutting tool. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center and is in serious condition, although officials said they are likely non-life threatening.
He was issued a citation for going left of center, and police said no drugs or alcohol were involved.
