Ohio St: search for new leader not predetermined

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The man leading the search for Ohio State University’s next president says his committee has no candidates in mind and there is nothing predetermined about the process.

University trustee Jeffrey Wadsworth says he is absolutely committed to a search that will bring the best candidates forward.

Wadsworth, chairman of the university’s Presidential Search Committee, said Friday the university will hire a search firm, take input from students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.

The 13-member search committee held its first meeting Friday. Wadsworth expects the process to last several months.

The university is looking for a successor to Gordon Gee, who retired earlier this month a few weeks after remarks were made public that he made months earlier jabbing Roman Catholics and Southeastern Conference schools.
