P&G to occupy huge Pa. distribution center

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Consumer products giant Procter & Gamble is planning to occupy a large distribution center under development in southcentral Pennsylvania.

The Public Opinion of Chambersburg (http://bit.ly/12Yr0Ph ) reports that construction on the $93 million facility in Southampton Township, Franklin County is expected to be finished next summer.

About the size of 31 football fields, it will be the largest distribution center in the region and one of the biggest employers in Franklin County, expected to create about 1,000 jobs.

Liberty Property Trust owns the 182-acre site off Interstate 81 and will lease the building to Procter & Gamble.

The project received state and local tax incentives.
