Youngstown police are investigating a shooting on the city’s East Side.

Around 8 p.m. officers responded to the Rockford Village Public Housing Apartments.

There were a few shell casings lying on the street in the area of Dogwood Lane.

Officers on scene said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and his injuries appear to be non life-threatening.

They’re reviewing surveillance video from the surrounding area to look for more clues.
