Heavy rains Monday evening soaked Lawrence County.

High water from the drenching rains closed a road for a short time in Taylor Township.  Route 168 under the railroad bridge was shut down until waters receded.  The bridge is located just outside the borough limits of West Pittsburg.

Emergency crews said a car had earlier stalled in the water which reached nearly two-feet deep at one point.
