The new Tri-Lakes Library in North Jackson opened Monday.

The new building is located on Mahoning Avenue in North Jackson, next to the high school.

The $ 2 million building replaces libraries in Lake Milton and North Jackson.

The new layout of the library makes browsing books and finding specific titles a little easier.

“The collection layout is a little different right now,” said Youngstown Mahoning County Public Library Director Heidi Daniel. “We have it organized by genre, which we think is kind of fun. If you’re looking for a mystery book it’s not just interfiled, it’s in a mystery section. It makes browsing a little easier.”

Daniel said any items checked out at either previous location won’t incur late fees until July 30.

Library hours are Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Friday. Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Sunday.
