Boyfriend being held in Ohio missing toddler case

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The boyfriend of a missing Ohio toddler’s mother is being held in jail after police say he lied to investigators about the child’s disappearance.

Steven King II appeared in court Tuesday morning in Toledo where a judge set his bond at $250,000.

King’s attorney had argued for a lower amount and told the judge that 23-year-old was not facing a violent charge. King told reporters after his arrest Monday that he is innocent.

Elaina Steinfurth disappeared from her Toledo neighborhood June 2.

Volunteers and authorities have searched all over Toledo for the 19-month-old girl.

The child’s mother, 25-year-old Angela Steinfurth, remains jailed after being charged with obstructing official business in her daughter’s disappearance.
